FIREFIGHTERS, EMTs, PARAMEDICS AND FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTORS
In order to take the exam to become a NYC Firefighter, you must:
Be at least 17 1/2 years old by the end of application period and under 29 years of age at the beginning
of the application period.
File an application to take the Firefighter exam. (Application will available to the public upon actual
release of the notification of examination.)
Base salary is $43,074 and after five years the salary is $99,104.
You must bring your ID and at least 2 copies of your resume.
